Festive Hong Kong 2010 is the annual marketing theme of the HKTB in 2010-11, which is designed for encouraging visitors to come experience the unique culture, as well as the colourful fusion of Chinese and Western festivities that could only be found in Hong Kong. Throughout the year, the HKTB will organise a series of mega events, which will be promoted along with the traditional festivals and cultural celebrations, as well as major events launched by third parties. The HKTB aims to further elevate Hong Kong’s image as the Events Capital of Asia, and create greater business opportunities for the tourism, retail, dining and service sectors of the city. Korean Students Experience Hong Kong's Vibrant and Unique Living Culture

The first Korean student excursion of 2010 was from the Incheon Girl's Commercial High School. The visit covered Hong Kong and Shenzhen from 11 to 14 January and offered the participants a valuable and memorable opportunity to learn about the city's financial operations and to experience the living culture of Hong Kong. The school's outstanding students, led by their principal and teachers, visited the Exchange Exhibition Hall of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) in Central. A guided tour was conducted for the group to learn about the operation of one of the world's major stock exchange centres. They also visited the architecturally stunning Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Main Building in Central and the campus of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In addition, they also spent time at some of the city's most popular attractions like Ocean Park and The Peak.

Hong Kong Tourism Board Promotes Festive Menus in South Korea

Joined hands with The Ritz-Carlton, Seoul, Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) rolled out a series of promotional activities in Seoul on 7-31 January 2010, so as to further promote unique Hong Kong’s festive gourmets and wines. At the luncheon and gala dinner that were dedicated for South Korea media and travel trade members respectively to experience distinctive Hong Kong’s delicacies, celebrated local chef Chow Chung joined the HKTB to introduce various festive menus to participants, and further arouse South Korean consumers’ interest in visiting Hong Kong through media coverage.

First Hong Kong Tourism Board & Hong Kong Hotels Association GM Travel Mission to Taiwan

Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and Hong Kong Hotels Association (HKHA) jointly organised the first GM travel mission in December 2009. Joined by HKTB and HKHA senior representatives, the delegation met over 120 travel trade members and officials of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau to further strengthen mutual tourism exchange between the two destinations as well as share marketing intelligence in the development of multi-destination itineraries.

Re-opening of Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple Main Altar
Praying platform in front of the Main Altar at Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple was re-opened and the sacred portrait of Master Wong Tai Sin was relocated back to the Main Altar from Fung Ming House on 8 February 2010.
